The PRSI Wig Grant Treatment Benefit Scheme is available to insured workers, the self-employed, and retired people who have the required number of PRSI contributions. Once approved, you can claim up to €500 for your new wig or hair topper.

Primary scarring alopecias (cicatricial alopecias)
Frontal fibrosing alopecia and lichen planopilaris (scarring alopecia)
Chemotherapy-induced alopecia (anagen effluvium)
Alopecia resulting from surgery or trauma, including burns

Dependent Spouse / Civil Partner/ / Cohabitant’s Contributions
If you do not have enough PRSI contributions you may be able to claim on your dependent spouse/civil partner/cohabitant’s contributions; even after death a widower or surviving civil partner may be able to claim.
